Dr Michael Noetel

Michael translates rigorous research into practical evidence.

Michael is an Associate Professor of Psychology at The University of Queensland and an Affiliate Researcher at MIT FutureTech. His research uses large, transparent studies and rigorous evidence synthesis to make complex findings useful to governments, educators and the public.

He has more than a decade of experience conducting systematic reviews, meta-analyses and structured expert elicitations. His education research includes the systematic review Video Improves Learning in Higher Education. His current work focuses on understanding risks from advanced artificial intelligence and the policies that could reduce them.
